Established in 1945 by C. Robert Appleby, the Appleby Insurance Agency is a family run agency which was founded on a philosophy of offering personal and professional service to its customers. Mr. Appleby started his agency after leaving the Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. He ran the agency for 44 years before retiring in 1989, at which time his two sons, David and Kevin took over the agency. Since the time the agency was founded, it has grown into a full-service agency with a staff of 4 insurance specialists serving over 3000 individuals and families, and 1000 businesses in Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth Counties including South River, East Brunswick, Sayreville, Old Bridge, Spotswood, Monroe Twsp., Jamesburg, Woodbridge, Edison and the surrounding communities. We utilize a state-of-the-art computerized insurance management system which includes a comparative rating system that instantly compares the rates of the insurance companies we represent, allowing us to offer you our best possible rates.
